mission

Coming from a small farm coupled with my understanding of the intersections with culture, equity, diversity and creativity, I'm interested in how we find pragmatic solutions that support both family farmers and POC or underserved communities to build a more equitable future, as well as protect and regenerate nature. Regenerative farming, agroecology, de-colonisation of rural spaces, land justice, food sovereignty, and community farms are all key areas of research for the future of Hamswell Farm, as well as my own creative practice and path. I'm interested in land access and sharing knowledge about nature and ecology that I was privileged to grow up with due to my access to land.

I believe it’s key to reconcile seemingly unrelated fields of thought and research that have traditionally been segregated in western thought. I am studying Taoism which is embedded in Chinese philosophy which is essentially the concept of interdependence, with no delineation between human and non-human, the universe and nature. I am also currently studying to be a Gong Bath practitioner and I believe in the power of art, visual communication, sound and creativity in engaging audiences with these complex subjects.
